Feudal Japan: The Shogunate Character Designs

Character designs for my unfinished submission to the 2018 artstation character design challenge. The story I had in mind involved went with the initial setup of:

It's been three years since the sun has risen over Japan--the darkness bringing countless yokai that threaten the lives of those who live in small villages. The shogunate is made up of yokai that have possessed the emperor, assuring people that the darkness is just a bad omen that will pass. Before his initiation to the shogunate, one Daimyo has figured out what is going on, escaping with his life and his most trusted samurai; setting out on a journey to bring back the sun, and meeting various characters along the way.
